Now my mate Paul, who is ConcreteCowboy on here, was a bit taken aback when I expressed such sentiments on Twitter but I was still really chuffed to get Marah’s latest release in the post in the format of my childhood. I threw out all my old mixtapes, because they were either warped or because my brother had stolen them to record himself back when he was teaching himself to play guitar, but like my childhood toys I wish that I hadn’t. There’s something iconic about the cassette tape that no other format has ever managed to replicate. That’s why it looks so good on bags and on t-shirts - those little spokey wheels and that serious font that seems to appear on all of them.
